According to the Road Transport Act 1987, every vehicle owner must have valid Car Insurance and a Motor Vehicle License (road tax) to legally drive on Malaysian roads. Without valid Car Insurance and road tax, driving on public roads is illegal. To renew your road tax, ensure your insurance, at minimum third-party coverage, is renewed first.
